EFORT Fora 2012
Dear colleagues and friends,
Also in the year 2012 EFORT is planning to organise six to ten EFORT Fora during national congresses. Like in the last years we would like to invite you to apply for such a Forum. As you might know an EFORT Forum is a special symposium on a controversial topic with a mixed faculty on the occasion of the national congress. In general we are looking for two to three national and two to three European speakers (no overseas). The session should be preferably held on the day of the official opening of the congress or the day after.
The topic should be chosen in agreement with the president of the national congress and EFORT. Therefore the national society organising a Forum has to appoint a local organiser who will be responsible for the scientific programme and the organisation together with the Chairman of the EFORT Fora Committee, Prof. Thierry Bégué, and the EFORT Head Office, Ms. Corinne Füglister (corinne.fueglister@efort.org).
The official language of the symposium will be English. All presentations and hand-outs must be in English as well. Simultaneous translations might be provided by the congress organisation if necessary. EFORT would pay the travel expenses for the European speakers according to our usual guidelines and will also be – in coordination with the local organiser – responsible for contacting them and organising their travel. The national society has to organise and cover the hotel expenses for the whole time of the congress for all speakers and should invite the speakers to the congress and all social events.In order to guarantee a smooth organisation and a high quality scientific programme I
would like to point out that the overall topic and the timetable (date and starting and end time) must be communicated to EFORT at least 6 months before the Forum.
